About Me

My name is Mallory and I am a 2nd  4th 5th 7th grade teacher. Sometimes I feel like that is my total identity, but I do have other interests and hobbies that fit into my life :-). The main thing I do when I am not doing school grade related things is spend time reading, watching Netflix, cooking, and hanging with my family.

Other interests include fitness, reading, shopping with my mama, being in the sun, being in the mountains, traveling, and seeing and trying new things. When it comes to shopping I like a good bargain, but I also have a weakness for expensive things...mostly shoes. I LOVE outlet stores, TJ Maxx, outfitter type stores, and any place with cute workout clothes. My reading interests seem to keep expanding! I am reading lots of middle school literature right now :-), but I have gotten into nonfiction lately. I spend my summers doing projects around the house, researching for the next school year, being lazy, reading, binge watching TV shows, and being outside.  I have always loved traveling and was lucky to be given the opportunity when I was growing up.  Some of my favorite places I have visited are Seattle, Jackson, WY, NYC, DC, San Diego, Nantucket, Jamaica, Brussels, and Paris.

We(essentially my entire family) moved to Wilmington, NC a couple years ago and being on the beach is MUCH easier now! I moved to Wilmington from western NC, so as much as I adore the beach, my heart is in the mountains and I know I will eventually head back that way. *Update* I have now moved back to the mountains! This being the reason I have now transitioned to middle school.

My goal for this blog is to continue to connect with other teachers and get some insight from people who have experienced the elementary to middle transition.
